iPads and Technology for Children and Young Adults with Special Needs



Parents, schools, and therapists are looking to technology to address a variety of academic areas. iPads and other iDevices have provided a tool to address reading, writing, communication, behavior, access, and more. This presentation will introduce users to accessibility features of the iPad, evaluating prerequisite skills for iPad usage, discussing accessories, and app selection. Discussion will include strategies for collaboration between home and school on iPad usage. Participants will gain in depth knowledge of the device and applications that can be used as part of a best practice strategy for students with special needs.
