{"id":16129,"date":"2018-11-09T17:47:35","date_gmt":"2018-11-09T17:47:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.poac.net\/?post_type=events&amp;p=16129"},"modified":"2018-11-09T17:47:35","modified_gmt":"2018-11-09T17:47:35","slug":"hope-10-concert","status":"publish","type":"events","link":"https:\/\/www.poac.net\/events\/hope-10-concert\/","title":{"rendered":"Bobby Bandiera &#038; Friends Hope 10 Concert"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"event-info\">\n<p class=\"event-price\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.poac.net\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/ConcertSponsorshipFlyer.pdf\">Sponsorship Opportunities Available!<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Musician, bandleader and community icon\u00a0<strong>Bobby Bandiera<\/strong>\u00a0and the\u00a0<strong>Count Basie Center for the Arts<\/strong>\u00a0have announced details for\u00a0<strong>HOPE 10 \u2013 THE FINAL HOPE CONCERT<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is our tenth HOPE concert, and I\u2019ve been proud to gather my friends at the Basie to help out for so many great causes in our community,\u201d said HOPE founder and bandleader\u00a0<strong>Bobby<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Bandiera<\/strong>. \u201cFor this final HOPE concert, POAC Autism Services and the Parker Family Health Clinic will be our beneficiaries, and I couldn\u2019t think of two better organizations to represent all that these concerts have stood for.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe list of organizations that Hope concerts have benefitted over the past years is significant,\u201d said\u00a0<strong>Adam Philipson, President and CEO, Count Basie Center for the Arts<\/strong>. \u201cThis year\u2019s deserving organizations will benefit greatly from the generosity of time and talent of the artists. But this year we also take off our hats and honor an icon and treasure to our community \u2014 Bobby himself.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat a privilege to share in the celebration of the talent and altruism of one of the Shore\u2019s treasures, Bobby Bandiera,\u201d said\u00a0<strong>Dr. Gene Cheslock<\/strong>, founder of the\u00a0<strong>Parker Family Health Center<\/strong>. \u201cWe\u2019re honored to celebrate an outstanding citizen of our singular community. Bobby has done so much to bring us all closer together with no expectation of recognition.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt POAC Autism Services, our goal is to \u2018Make Life Better Every Day\u2019 for everyone affected by autism in New Jersey,\u201d said\u00a0<strong>Gary Weitzen, Executive Director, POAC Autism Services<\/strong>. \u201cBobby Bandiera has been doing exactly that for nonprofit organizations, and all the people they serve, for years. His giving spirit has touched so many lives locally and throughout our state. We are absolutely thrilled to be a part of Hope X and grateful to be a beneficiary and part of Bobby\u2019s legacy of generosity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The first HOPE concert took place in 2003, and on a semi-annual basis since, the shows have raised millions of dollars for charity organizations, including the\u00a0<strong>Visiting Nurse Association of Central New Jersey, Mary\u2019s Place By The Sea in Ocean Grove, Horizons Student Enrichment Program at Rumson Country Day School, Fulfill (the Foodbank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties), 180 Turning Lives Around, The Valerie Fund at Unterberg Children\u2019s Hospital at Monmouth Medical Center, Red Bank Borough Schools<\/strong>, and programs at both the Basie and the\u00a0<strong>Two River Theater<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The concert\u2019s reputation for attracting star-studded lineups is also legendary, with artists like\u00a0<strong>Bruce Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi,\u00a0<\/strong>Blondie\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Deborah Harry, Brian Fallon, Southside Johnny Lyon, Max Weinberg, Nicole Atkins, Glen Burtnick, John Cafferty, Richie \u201cLaBamba\u201d Rosenberg\u00a0<\/strong>and<strong>\u00a0Gary U.S. Bonds<\/strong>\u00a0among the HOPE alumni.<\/p>\n<p>Artists participating in this final iteration of the HOPE concert will be announced closer to the show.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThough this is the final HOPE concert,\u201d Bandiera noted, \u201cit\u2019s important that the spirit of giving back through music lives on for years to come.
