This workshop will discuss the planning process for transitioning children with autism and other developmental disabilities to adulthood. While this process officially begins at age 14, planning could and should start much earlier. Parents of children age 5 and up are encouraged to attend this free training. The following will be covered:
- Transition activities in your child’s school
- SSI/Medicaid
- Guardianship
- Applying for services through Perform Care and DDD
- NJCAT Survey
- Support Coordination
- Entitlement vs. Eligibility
- Residential Placements
