Get the Information You Need to Teach and Reach Your Child/Student

This 10 part series of workshops will cover the basics of teaching and interacting with a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). It is intended to help parents and educators, who may be new to ASD, get information and strategies to help their children/students gain skills and independence. Each session will be presented by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and will provide practical tools and guidance. Each session is about an hour to an hour and a half and you can attend any or all 10. The sessions are as follows:
  1.  ABA 101: The Fundamentals of Applied Behavior Analysis
  2. Do-it-Yourself Verbal Behavior: Help Facilitate Language in Your Child/Student
  3. How to Teach and Encourage Social Skills
  4. Taking Children with ASD into the Community: How to Navigate Problem Behavior
  5. Why Does He Do That?: Practical Intervention for Challenging Behavior
  6. How to Include Effective Goals in the IEP
  7. Social Stories Boot Camp: A Great Tool for Introducing New Ideas
  8. Visual Supports and Daily Routines: Teaching Independence
  9. How to Evaluate a Good ABA Program
  10. Utilizing the Natural Environment to Teach, Generalize and Maintain Skills
