Making ABA and VB Work in Your School or Home Program

This is a full day which can be adapted to a brief overview of two hours.

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is the study of human behavior and is the primary source of intervention and education for those with diagnoses on the autism spectrum. This workshop will give an introduction to how ABA relates to education, skill acquisition, and the reduction of problem behavior. The following will be addressed:

  • Behavior, reinforcement and skill acquisition
  • Instructional control, prompts, and planning
  • Teaching procedures and verbal operants

This workshop is appropriate for parents, teachers, paraprofessionals, and anyone who teaches children with autism and other developmental disabilities.  Please note: This workshop can be modified to include aspects of B.F. Skinner's Analysis of Verbal Behavior.
